New Terminal at Malaga Airport
Construction on the new Terminal 3 at Malaga Airport has been ongoing for the last 4 years but the 15th March 2010 saw the inauguration of potentially one of the singlemost important advances to the Costa del Sol Community, with the official formalities overseen by King Juan Carlos himself. Due to an increasing number of passengers the development work on the airport, which is estimated to total 200 Million Euros, will be adjacent to Terminal 2 and has an area of 385,000m2 - more than double to size of the existing terminal. It is also has the largest food hall in Europe and to have the very first National Geographic Shop in the World. Once the new runway is completed it is anticipated that the 12.8 millon passengers that used the airport in 2008 will double for 2011.
