On the 8th of September 2011 FM Consulting Realty Group celebrated the 21st anniversary of their company. Founder and CEO Fausto Martínez, his wife and college Angela Schouten and their team entertained over 200 guests in the gardens of FM’s latest prestigious project, Cortijo del Mar Resort.
The event was also attended by the Mayor of Estepona, Mr. José Maria Garcia Urbano, Consular Corps of Málaga, as well as many important personalities and real estate companies of the Costa del Sol.

The Nasir Bin Abdullah & Sons Consortium has won the tender to redevelop Marbella’s fishing port at La Bajadilla into an impressive marina thereby regenerating the area and bringing important cruise revenue to Marbella.

The Qatari Sheik, Abdullah Ben Nasser Al-Thani , who also owns Málaga Football Club, will be investing €400 million into the exciting project which will incorporate an impressive modern design incorporating a marina, a 200 meter quay for cruise liners, five-star hotel accommodation as well as dedicated dining and shopping areas.

…to arrive in Marbella.

With the recent inauguration in 2007 of the new High Speed Rail links between Madrid and the newly refurbished Maria Zambrano Station in Malaga travel times to the capital were cut to an impressive 2h 20mins, with the new design trains able to reach speeds of up to 330km/h. This rail link will also be extended from Fuengirola right through to Estepona bringing the popular Cercanias service to the doorstep of hundreds of thousands more people in the Marbella region.

Construction on the new Terminal 3 at Málaga Airport lasted for 4 years but the 15th March 2010 saw the inauguration of potentially one of the single most important advances to the Costa del Sol Community, with the official opening of the New Terminal at Malaga Airport conducted by King Juan Carlos.
The Ministry of Development invested 370 Million euros in the building of the new terminal as part of AENA’s ‘Plan Málaga’ for the modernization and expansion of the airport. The improvements have included new parking for 2.500 cars over 7 floors, a new General Aviation building, a security and services centre, a new cargo terminal as well as the new terminal 3. The expansion allows more direct flights due an increasing number of passengers. The new terminal is adjacent to Terminal 2 is more than double the size of the existing terminal. It also has the largest food hall in Europe and the very first National Geographic Shop in the World.

The second runway is completed and due to open in the first quarter of 2012 after it has undergone rigorous safety tests. It occupies 860.000m2  of the 2 million m2 devoted to the new phase of improvements. The new runway area includes 4 runway access routes and 6 exits and parking for 27 planes.

In 2010 Málaga Airport  handled 12,064,616 passengers, 105,631 flight operations and 3,063 tonnes of cargo.

The much anticipated Subway and San Pedro de Alcantara bypass will significantly reduce travel times between Estepona and Marbella. Work continues and the project should see completion by easter 2012. This bypass is not only popular with residents of San Pedro but also for the many commuters having to travel through the centre of the town. The tunnel will begin just past the junction of the Ronda Road and finish around  the famous Marbella Arch in San Pedro just before the Guadalmina Golf Course.
